The Cardiac Surgery service is a clinical service which mission is the surgical treatment of both acquired and congenital heart, pericardium, and large vessel conditions, in a competitive, efficient and quality approach that satisfies the health needs of the population, on the basis of a well trained and motivated team, a committed educational labor, and advanced scientific research.

Our vision is to be a reference center in our community, for the surgical treatment of acquired cardiopathies, and a reference center for congenital cardiopathies in the north of the state, fostering excellence areas in care, educational, and research spheres.
