Unit subspecialised in the ocular adnexa, orbital and periocular regions, brow, eyelids, orbital walls and cavity.
The surgical activity of this unit consists of more than five hundred procedures each year that include: oncological eyelid and periorbital region surgery, reconstruction of lacrimal tracts and and orbital cavity for the fitting of ocular prosthetics, reconstruction from fractures in the orbital region, correction of ectropion and lagophthalmos.
Unit of reference for six autonomous communities in very complex surgeries, such as the correction of exophthalmos through orbital decompression, and primary, metastatic and neighbouring orbital region cancer surgeries.
Regularly receives opththalmologists-in-training from other autonomous communities to carry out their rotation period in this ophthalmologic surgery discipline.
